Family Day Weekend 2014 in Seattle

Now that I'm on an assignment out in the West Coast, we took the opportunity to pay a visit to Seattle over the Family Day weekend.  The only reason I was excited about visiting Seattle was because I really wanted to go to the first Starbucks store in Seattle and buy some memorabilia.  Yes, I am a Starbucks snob.

I knew that Seattle was a rainy city, but that weekend it poured!  So unfortunately, we didn't enjoy the city that much having to walk in the rain and all.  We stayed at the W Seattle but it wasn't as nice as most of the other Ws that we've stayed at.  It was kind of disappointing.

We made our way over to the Pike Place Market and had a little lunch.

Then, we made our way over to the main attraction of the trip.  The first Starbucks store at the Pike Place Market really wasn't the very first location of the cafe, but the second.  Nonetheless, it is being advertised as the first store and this was where I wanted to go!  There was a huge lineup to get inside.

 Here's my stash of memorabilia.

The next day, we visited the Space Needle.

And the Olympic Sculpture Park.  The park was actually really nice and would've been great if it hadn't started to rain!

There was only one worthy food mention on this trip believe it or not and it was one that we stumbled upon because the restaurant that we intended on going to did not take reservations and had a two-hour wait time.  Staple & Fancy Mercantile served up some great Italian food.  I love it when you walk into a restaurant and find a seat at the bar and enjoy a great meal.
